  • Hiking

    There are so many hiking trails all over the Gunnison National Forest. Closest to The CB Lodge are Whetston (Difficult), Upper Upper (Difficult), and Brush Creek (Easy) Trailheads.

  • Mountain Biking

    Mountain biking trails are all over the town of Crested Butte. Rent or buy bikes around town, or the ski base. Hop on any trails or take the lift up to Crested Butte mountain and ride down.

  • Rafting

    Rafting on the Taylor River is the closest to the house. Only a short 25-minute drive to the Three Rivers Resort in Almont. They are great with kids and have many years of experience. The Upper river is a level 3 and so much fun!

  • Fishing

    Dragon Fly and Crested Butte Anglers are recommended for an adventurous fishing experience. You meet just south of Almont with your guide and they will float down the Taylor River. Build fly fishing skills and techniques on the journey to be a expert fisherman.

  • Lake Irwin

    Lake Irwin is worth an all-day outing with friends and family. A scenic 35-minute drive just outside of town. Make sure to pack a picnic, bring paddle boards, canoes, and fishing rods before heading out. There are no vendors or rentals, only the gorgeous lake.

  • Outdoor Concerts

    The sun, the mountain, music in the air, family and friends gathering and hanging out. It's one of CB's most beloved summer pastimes, the Alpenglow concert series. Enjoy a concert downtown or in the mountain.

  • Golfing

    The Club at Crested Butte makes for a truly moving experience for golfers and their companions. The views are spectacular whether enjoying a meal, a round of golf, pickle ball or tennis game.

  • Downtown Crested Butte

    Historic Elk Avenue has so many offerings to its visitors, such as a skate park, bars, restaurants, retail and activity equipment rentals. This quaint downtown is centrally located to meet all the needs of locals and visitors.

  • Camping

    The camp grounds in Crested Butte are too many to count. With magnificent views, and natural soundings, there are plenty of public camping sites to explore. Check out which sites are available to the public.
